Daniel 3:16-18

My favorite story in the bible is that of Shadrach (Shad-rack), Meshach (Me-Shack), & Abednego (A-Ben-de-go)
King Nebuchadnezzar decreed that everyone in his land would bow down and worship him as a god and his golden idol, but these three wouldn’t.  This angered the King and he sent for them. The King’s plan was to throw them into this blazing fire πŸ”₯as punishment.
In the presence of the King, they refused again to bow down and worship him or his golden idols, saying; “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.  If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand,  But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” Daniel 3:16-18
Long story short, the King had all three of them thrown into the fire bound.  After a few minutes the King noticed shadows moving around in the fire.  The King saw 4 men dancing and moving around in the fire unbound. After some time, the King called the men out the fire.  They were unharmed.  This event changed the King spiritually.
The part of the story that touches me is when the three men say, “If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace.” Their faith and their belief in God was so strong that they did not fear.  They stood ready to serve God.
So the verse goes on to say, “But if not, we will not serve your gods.”  But if not?  πŸ€” Most think this statement is saying, in case God isn't Large enough or Alive, but that isn't so.  What this is saying to me, is that these men had so much trust and belief in their God, the only God, the One True God, that they trusted God to carry out His plans for them. Meaning; if it was God's plan for them to die this way, then so be it.
This is the courage we should all strive to have on a daily basis.  Standing strong in our Faith and Belief of the one True God, knowing He will deliver us.
Lord,  As I sit here writing this prayer I feel the need to thank You for all that I am.  I am because of You.  I am at peace knowing that You are my God and I can share anything with You. You give me the mental and physical peace I need to carry on with my day.  There is no issue too big or small that You can’t solve.  You give me the resolve to stand firm in my beliefs everyday.  I KNOW that You are with me as I journey down my path in life.  Thank You for loving ❀️ me.

In Your Precious name I pray, Amen!  πŸ™
